Can anyone describe to me all the different variations of Orr Rookie cards as well as reprints that are out there ? And what signs to look for when trying to determine whether it's a reprint or not ?On some cards the rink behind Orr is a darker blue and the red images in the crowd behind him are a bit brighter compared to other cards. Was also wondering if the opc Orr Rc had any history of printing out original cards with a white back rather than a yellow one. And if cards with a white backs are a dead giveaway to determine a fake. Thanks.

Where are you seeing all these cards? if the cards are being offered at a really great price- walk away.. Orr RCs are very expensive.- if its not graded by a reputable card grading CO. also be skeptical. I saw and bid on an Orr RC that was graded a 2. it sold for $250. A 2 grade means the card is in rough shape- and it sold for over $200. most card Co. have a way of checking the serial no to see if it has really been graded by that co.-- I am very glad to see that KSA has added that option to their web page. That is a BIG step in the right direction --

Variations on the card color, probably has something to do with the card storage.. Cards left in sunlight can loose some color. Cards with vibrant color.- Thats a good thing.

Thanks for the feedback. So it has more to do with the light exposure to the card for the contrast change. Have you seen any Orr rookies with the back of the card being a crisp white colour instead of a dull yellow ?

back of the cards, ??? I would be guessing- if its "crisp white" I would guess reprint card. older cards were all the same stock, except for that test stock I heard they used. - if the card you looked at was using the test stock, the price would be a lot higher.. Hopefully the KSA guy will fill us in.

Item number: 170240963536 Thats funny, I was just doing an Ebay search and here is one of those test stocks I mentioned. He may be asking too much for it. But, I did say it was expensive. $150,000 for a Graded Orr RC on Test stock.

If the back of the card is white, it is 100% a counterfeit. For more info on spotting counterfeit cards, check out the counterfeit detector page that we have added to the website.
