Hi, I'm wondering about the sales of cards after being Graded by KSA. Anyone have comments on how your cards did on an auction site such as Ebay?

Hi, slow message board....but I do have my opinion about selling cards graded, by KSA or anyone for that matter. Ungraded cards seem to sell at a higher price. People think cards are better then they really are. A card that is graded a 7 or even an 8 have been set- so a buyer knows what he/she is getting. if a card is not graded the buyer is left thinking that it could be a 10. I had a Ray Bourque Rookie card graded a 7 and it went for $26. around the same time there was an ungraded Bourque RC that sold for over $40. Before having my card graded, I would have said the card was Mint. since I am not a profesional, I could and do say that. Grading SEEMS to lower the value of the card if its not a 10 Mint. Search Ebay and keep an eye on 2 of the same cards 1 graded and 1 not graded. of course the ungraded card will say "Mint" which will make it more appealing. BTW- Beckett graded cards are in a class by themselves.- Thye go for Hundreds of dollars. and thats my opinion

NIce reply, thanks for the opinions. I agree that if sending in for grading I'm just sending in cards "I" feel would be 9.5 or better, your right though a card fresh from the pack that appears MINT from the "eye" will/can sell for more than a low graded card with the exception of older cards. As for Beckett Graded cards in a class of their own I agree, BUT, its only marketing and Hype, after all they do own the largest price guide company in the hobby. Personally, I'll go with a Canadian company (KSA). More marketing in the publications (especially Beckett) by KSA and keep STRICT accurate grades can and should make them move into the Top ranks. My opinions.
